About this plant
This low creeping prostrate shrub makes for an attractive ground cover with bright green leaves and striking orange flowers between November to March. Growing up to 2.5m wide, the ‘Lake King Eremophila’ is classified as “Declared Rare” by the WA Government and “Endangered” under the Australian Biodiversity Conservation act as the total wild population was estimated to be 119 mature plant in six locations near Ravensthorpe in 2002. As it grows in sandy loam around lake edges and saline flats it is very salt, drought, and frost tolerant, making it a beautiful but hardy option in a native garden. It will also trail attractively over walls or pot edges.
