Verticordia staminosa subsp. cylindracea

About this plant

A small flowering shrub in the myrtle family growing to a height of 60cm-100cm depending on the subspecies with glabrous, linear leaves. It is distinguished from other verticordia species by its long, prominent stamens which extend far beyond the feathery yellow petals. This beautiful plant grows in crevices on exposed granite outcrops known only to a single area in the Wongan Hills. Classified as Endangered or Threatened due to the small number of plants by the West Australian Government.
