About this plant
Woody prostrate shrub which typically spreads up to 50cm in diameter, but can become a climber as the plant matures. Flowering September to November with red / orange tubular blooms with white stamens. Listed as “Endangered” by the Australian government, there are only two known locations North of Perth in the Gingin and Joondalup areas. As this species of shrub grows in white sand over limestone on low coastal cliffs, it is hardy and salt tolerant with the main threats being mining, weed invasion, and inappropriate fire regimes.
